25th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Last Sunday, Bishop Zubik celebrated a special
Mass at St. Paul Cathedral recognizing all Diocesan Lay
Ecclesial Ministers (LEMs). These are individuals in their respective
fields who have advanced education and practical
experience. We were honored to have Elaine Magill, as a Pastoral
Associate & Director of Religious Education, & Terry
Schiebel, our Music Director, receive these awards. Well done.
This year’s theme is "Teaching About God's Gift of Forgiveness." Catechetical Sunday is an opportune time to reflect on the role that each person plays, by virtue of Baptism, in handing on the faith and being a witness to the Gospel. We will bless, commission, & present certificates to our catechists & aides at the 10:00 a.m. Mass. We extend special recognition to Lonny Platzer who is celebrating 40 years as a catechist. May God bless her for the service of teaching the Good News to our children on their faith's journey.

A vision of Heaven
As Dale McKay was facing death, he spoke to writer Nancy Schertzing about his feelings and his hopes for heaven. Later, Nancy spoke with Dale's widow, Ellen, who shared the joy of their marriage and the moving experience of Dale's death. Their story is filled with love and hope that speaks to all of us.
In the Know with Father Joe
Dear Fr. Joe: What is a mortal sin? If I commit one, do I automatically go to hell?
